I think i caught my step dad cheating, what do i do?

Im a 17 year old lad and live with my mum and step dad, i am hurt from the fact i never had a close relationship with my real father as i got older and have been more so in the last few months as i got older. This year i have become close with my step dad and have started going on nights out with him. Iv lived with him from the age of 8 so he has brought me up and is pretty much like my father. I have found comfort in being closer to him in the past year because of how increasingly rejected i felt from my real dad.

My mum went away with her friends on a spa weekend for her friends birthday. I told my step dad that i was staying at my fathers that night. My dad picked me and my brother up from my brothers flat and i went to my house to get some clothes and my laptop (this was an hour and a half later). When i got to my house there was a car id never seen before parked outside with my step dads car behind it which meant he had parked after the car. I tried to unlock the door but the key was left in the other side. I then rang him and he rejected my phone call and then turned his phone off. I know him well and how he reacts to things and i know this would have been in panic as i was banging on the door hard.

I went in as the back door was left open and went into my bedroom on the second floor to get my stuff (my step dads and mums room is on the third floor). I didn’t bother shouting him or going upstairs it was complete silent and i knew he was avoiding me as he will always shout downstairs when i come in my house to see it was me. He is the type of person that when he is caught out gets scared, panics and freezes with fear, I’ve seen it happen before when he gets caught with small things like white lies.

I got im my dads car and didn’t say anything and completely acted as if nothing had happened as i didn’t want anyone involved at the time. I was gutted, completely shocked and never EVER thought that this would happen. My mum was in a really happy relationship before when i was about 6/7 which ended with her boyfriend having an affair and she had a hard time for a couple of years as she was really gutted and she kept taking him back and he kept having an affair. She swore she would never give a man a second chance again.

That night he rang me twice which was unusual as he never returns missed calls from me, i know he would use an excuse saying his phone was off ETC and maybe he was not home (which he clearly was). I just turned my phone off like he did to me earlier. I do believe i am right as i trust my instinct and i know my step dad well.

Im confused, gutted, angry. I feel like i have lost all love and respect for him and the way i look up to him, i thought he was better than that. I really didnt know what to do as my mum is really happy at the moment more than she has ever been. If she found out he cheated on her or had an affair she would be gutted and maybe never get back with him even though they share their lives and have a business together. On the other hand i could believe him and pretend it never happened. However i know deep down that i wouldn’t put it passed him as there has been reason to suspect him in the past but my mum trusts him too much and so do i. I know he had affairs in his first marriage but didn’t think anything of it because he was really unhappily married and that was years ago.
However i do know that all his brothers have affairs frequently and so did his dad years ago.

I feel really hurt and betrayed myself as i really loved and trusted him recently and spent a lot of time with him. I feel like i have just lost that and closeness with a male role model is a hard thing to loose.

I really dont know what to do as i carnt prove anything, my mum will listen to me if i tell her but i know he will deny it and she will eventually take him back if he doesnt admit it (which he wont) or she has no proof. Now i think he has been doing this all these years. No matter what happens now i know how i feel and that i have no time for him now. This could cause lots of strain and stress when we all had a really happy life at home. Also i dont want to see my mum depressed and lonely like i did last time. She has just found out her aunty who she is really close to has cancer which could be terminal and this is making my mum upset and stressed. my mum out a bit.

What should i do? Ask someone for help? I carn’t live knowing this and staying quiet.. Or can i blackmail my stepdad into admitting it somehow? How shall i act when i see him tomorrow when i go home? Im confused stressed and dont know what to do. I still carnt believe this has happened. It would be extremely hard for my mum to leave him. It is also hurtful to know once someone is a cheat they are always a cheat. Please give me some advice, thanks

They have a specific package for mums to be and new mum’s, so I’ve picked a rose renewal facial, a rose cocoon body wrap and a rose petal luxury hand treatment? I’m very excited for it as I think it will do me the world of good after feeling so rubbish for the last few weeks, but now I’m 12 weeks and am feeling much better I think my husband and I could do with a treat. Do they all sound ok to you? Like I said they are specificially geared to mums to be, so have been assured they are fine and that baby is their top priority. Thanks.

as long as they are undertaken by a fully qualified beautician and they say they are designed for pregnant women then i would say they would be fine! im 34 weeks and had a full body massage the other day by a qualified beautician who was trained to deal with pregnant women and it was great! the only thing different is the oils they use the positions you lie in and they avoid hard massage on the bottom of your back as that’s where the baby is at this stage! enjoy! x

How to deal with a selfish and snobby sister?

Can someone please give me some advice? My sister is 2yrs older than me and we have never got on since we were 4 & 6 and someone mistook us for twins – she hated that. She went off to college and I went straight to work from school, she became quite the snob whilst away and we were all as a family and the locality "below" her.
I had my first child and two months before she had finally gave in to my "over niceness" and started talking to me, that didn’t last more than 6mths! When I fell pregnant with my second I decode to tell her first, that didn’t help, she was too busy forging her career to give it a second thought. During this time she broke up with a boyfriend and was understandably upset, but she took it to another degree, everyone had to suffer, she lost so many friends and it got to the state that my parents couldn’t take it anymore and asked me to talk to her – reason being I was able to tell her what other people were thinking and if she didn’t talk to me again then so what everyone else was in the clear – I was the bad guy – Again! My parents to this day tell me not to say anything that may upset her! she says everyone else is selfish and she thinks that she never is??!!
The presents she gave our kids – free flight socks and eye shields, that is when she built up to being around them – she is always terrified of them. she has always sworn from the the year dot that she would never have kids, her and her bf have a good life with all the toys and travel you could want.
we have moved overseas and I call everyone each week, no-one calls us, now things have changed times work etc and it is harder and all I am getting is bitchy mails about calling and when I point out that I have and no-one was home I get a worse one accusing me of being selfish! I have a family I am working round, she doesn’t why do I pander to the golden girl in my parents eyes?? I am fed up of hearing from my mum about what spa or show she has taken her to, yes I am a bitch I took the grandchildren overseas but for a better chance for them why do I have to cope with her after dealing with this huge change in the first place??
btw, can’t just ignore her as hubby says, as again I will be the bad person in everyones eyes. hubby is fed up and says I should be ignoring her and just worrying about our immediate family. I know he is right but it’s not that easy.
and if I ever get to the had enough stage and try to say so then she is in tears accusing me of allsorts of meanness and again I back down, apologising because it’s not worth my wile upsetting her – but I have had enough! my family is suffering I need to deal with this.

I think you should not ignore her completely but create some distance. Don’t give her that much thought and really pay attention to your own life as your husband says. Your sister is wearing you down and I bet she doesn’t even care. If she doesn’t come around who cares its YOUR turn to be a snob. Who knows her own medicine might work on her.

where is the best spa resort on peninsula in Victoria?

What is there to do in Karlsruhe and Baden Baden? Taking my mum as a suprise trip?

I’m taking my mum here as a suprise trip and i’m not sure what there is to do- i’ve heard about the spa’s here. Does anyone know costs for them? Any other attractions to see/do? We have 2 nights to spend- is it better to spend one night in baden baden and one in karlsruhe or just stay at one location. Any advice would be great

Baden-Baden is good for gambling (casinos) and sight-seeing (nice city). Karlsruhe is bigger and has a lot to offer (a big castle, nice zoo, German supreme court). You can stay at the same hotel for both nights, there’s a good public transport system (something like a Tram) from Baden-Baden to Karlsruhe.
